We Thrive and Good Measure programs transfer to new homes

We're excited to announce that, in collaborative conversation with stakeholders and led by the Mission Capital board, two key programs previously stewarded by Mission Capital have been transferred to new organizations this summer. 

As of June 1, the We Thrive program developed in 2021 has been transferred to Measure, a respected local nonprofit and program partner of Mission Capital. 

Developed in 2021 by Mission Capital, We Thrive offered a structured curriculum grounded in equity to support and empower BIPOC nonprofit leaders. The program formed cohorts of peers led by facilitators from Mission Capital and Measure to harness collective power and support individual and organizational stability and growth.  

The Mission Capital Board and Measure share a powerful, values‑driven commitment to strengthen the social sector by developing, elevating, and supporting leaders of color who are transforming their communities. Both organizations understand that meaningful, lasting change requires leadership that reflects the lived experiences, cultural knowledge, and brilliance of the communities most impacted by inequity.

Measure is a community-centered evaluation and data practice that partners with nonprofits, institutions, and grassroots leaders to interrogate data and artificial intelligence in ways that center people, proximity, and lived experience, ensuring technology is built with communities, not for them. Measure staff has been an active partner and co-designer of the We Measure program since it was conceived, providing strategy, content, facilitation, and impact measurement. Looking ahead, Measure will expand this programming across the South to partner with more nonprofit leaders of color in rural areas.

Also in June, upon the direction of the Good Measure Steering Committee, Mission Capital stepped away from its previously funded role as the backbone steward of Good Measure  and transferred that responsibility to Insights4Equity, an Austin-based firm.

Since 2019, Mission Capital has served as the backbone facilitator and steward of the Good Measure program in collaboration with its steering committee, a group of funders that includes St. David’s Foundation, Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, Andy Roddick Foundation, United Way for Greater Austin, Hogg Foundation, and Applied Materials. 

As a nonprofit consultancy and with expertise in data-informed practices, Insights4Equity deeply understands the value of Good Measure, and as a fiscal sponsorship of Little Bit of Good, it has a clear path for serving as the program's new home.

The Mission Capital board, Good Measure steering committee, and Insights4Equity share a deep, values‑driven commitment to building a more just, thriving, and equitable Central Texas. They are united by a belief that lasting community change happens when nonprofits, leaders, and systems have the support, data, and collaborative power they need to succeed.

Insights4Equity plans to continue to engage with the community and steering committee to continue the impact of relaunch the Good Measure program this year.
