Think. Believe. Dream. Dare.

“First, think. Second, believe. Third, Dream. And finally, dare.” This quote from Walt Disney illustrates how we want to inspire you to think differently about how our community approaches its most challenging social issues.Mission Capital’s bold vision is to see our community’s most intractable problems actually get solved. We bring hope to those who are tired and discouraged by seeing the same issues, the same efforts, but not seeing lasting change. We fuel mission-driven organizations to create meaningful social change.“First, think:” Mission Capital helps nonprofits work more effectively, more strategically, more creatively. We help them think differently about how they make progress toward their mission in a meaningful way. Sometimes that’s by helping them develop sound business models, think long-term about their mission and leadership, lead more effectively in their team and in their industry. We’re thinkers ourselves. Our resources are founded on extensive local research, based on national best practices in effectiveness , and thorough assessments of learning and leadership needs in the Austin area.“Second, believe:” When it comes to our community's most complex challenges, we believe that so much of what seems impossible can actually get solved. Mission Capital believes in focusing our resources on the people and organizations that are best positioned to find solutions to community problems. We also believe that it’s not all on nonprofits, and that we need everyone in our community to be a part of the solution.“Third, dream:” Dream big. Eradicating cancer, ending poverty, finding permanent homes for every child in foster care. Dream about what can happen when the right people, with the right resources, come together to tackle the big issues. We’re leading big cross-sector projects and community initiatives that involve bringing people together who are working on the same issue from different angles. For example, we’re currently managing a foster care project that brings together nonprofits like CASA, government agencies like CPS, educators, case workers, etc. in a structured way to really change the child welfare system.“And finally, dare:” Sometimes big bold visions take a bit of risk. We dare to step out and take a chance, to try something new, to iterate and make it better. And we encourage everyone we work with to do the same. We do this through our Accelerator, through alternative financing and social impact loans and through our professional consulting services.Inspiration is a powerful force and when put to good use, great things can happen. If you’re inspired by Mission Capital, I invite you to reach out to us. Get started, join our network, donate and help us make change happen in our community. We are a nonprofit like the hundreds we serve each and every year. We are not your typical nonprofit. We provide leadership and guidance to the nonprofits, local businesses, philanthropists, funders and government as they work – in their own ways – to address social issues. Like any nonprofit, we rely on the financial support from individuals, businesses and foundations to help us increase the impact of mission-driven people and organizations.
