Position Details:

Creative Action, a nationally recognized arts education and creative youth development organization, is currently seeking a Development Manager to lead fundraising event efforts, corporate sponsorship and annual giving. We are looking for a highly motivated, self-starting, energetic and detail oriented person who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and be a part of the team.  We also seek someone who will fit into the culture of our organization, which puts high value on collaboration, can-do thinking, respectful communication, appreciation of diversity and difference, and thinking outside the box. We are a fun and dynamic team that thrive on making a difference for youth. Applicants need to be driven and demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.

Primary responsibilities to include

Events and Corporate Relations

Oversees all development events to include but not limited to

  • Fundraising Gala
  • Fall Benefit concert
  • Cultivation events
  • Program visits
  • 3rd party events

 Manage committee, budget and sponsorships for our spring Gala.

                   Manage logistics and sponsorship for a new fall benefit concert

Builds relationships and solicits corporation sponsorships for events

Annual Giving

  • Manage mid-level giving program, including design and implementation of new mid-level giving strategy and maintaining a mid-level donor portfolio
  • Oversee all annual giving campaigns including direct mail, monthly giving, etc
  • Manages Board Giving agreements
  • Perform other duties required




CREDENTIALS/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in event planning and volunteer or committee management
  • Comfort in calling and interacting with businesses and donors on behalf Creative Action
  • Working knowledge of nonprofit functions including development and fundraising, experience working on special events and fundraising campaigns
  • Exceptional organizational, strategic, and planning skills
    • Demonstrated high professional standards, initiative, and integrity
    • Positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, and attention to detail
  • Ability and comfort multi-tasking and managing several projects at once
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and an open environment office space
  • Strong commitment to the mission and values of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with and motivate a broad spectrum of people
  • Ability to work both collaboratively as part of a team effort and independently with minimal supervision
  • Highly relational with strong ability to build relationships with donors, volunteers, colleagues



Technical Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively present information
  • Knowledge/clear understanding of fundraising techniques and strategies.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and the Google platform
  • Ability to assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work product
  • Experience working in donor databases a plus
  • Disciplined, strong work ethic and comfort with working occasional non-standard hours (weekends and evenings)
